Alumni Spotlight: Joe & Kaylee Johnson

Sep 11, 2023 | Alumni

“I am eternally grateful…”

Joe and Kaylee Johnson both graduated from Grace Christian University and got married in the fall of 2013. They now live in Holland, MI along with their four children, Norah, Soren, Eisley, and Audrey.

Joe and Kaylee have been in ministry together since 2013. After graduating from Grace, Joe went on to seminary and graduated with a Masters in Divinity from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. Since then, they have been serving at Parkside Bible Church in Holland, MI, where Joe is the associate pastor and Kaylee leads worship.

Joe shared about his experience at Grace, “All of the theology classes at Grace were incredibly formative for me. I was surprised how prepared I was for my Seminary experience as well. I took Dr. Loverin’s ethics class, which prepared me most for the trenches of ministry.” He continued,  “I often return to the material, lectures, and discussion from that class as I interact with many different types of people.”

When asked about his college years, Joe said, “People always say that ‘college is what you make it,’ and Grace is uniquely equipped to fulfill that. If you give yourself to the community, longing to grow closer to Christ, you will be transformed. I am eternally grateful for the support system I gained from Grace and the growth I experienced.”

Thank you, Johnsons, for sharing your story!
